Mr Rumbold has a connection outside of Grace Brothers with Captain Peacock. He worked in Army Catering Corps. This normally led to Captain Peacock making remarks about his war post. Mr Rumbold shrugged it off whenever it was mentioned about his status before Grace Brothers. When he wasn't being mocked for this by Captain Peacock he was often being mocked for another reason. This was normally due to his lack hair on his head, protuding ears and lack of intelligence for working out complicated situations. He normally just makes the situation worse. He had a habbit of taking credit for other peoples ideas and was completely oblivious to his secretaries.
Despite being the Head of the floor he often had to get involved in dressing up in costumes to help promote the store in anyway. When he was not playing dress up Rumbold often played the piano or accordian.
