First Name; James/Dick

Mr Lucas was the Junior of the Menswear department in Are You Being Served? He was the youngest of all the characters, and was very cheeky with style. His cheekiness often expanded towards all of the characters but Mr Lucas was very keen on winding up Mrs Slocombe in particular. This normally would follow with a wink of some sort or a smile.

Mr Lucas was not only cheeky towards Mrs Slocombe but to Miss Brahms as well. When he was not being cheeky to Miss Brahms he was constantly flirting with her trying to get her to go out with him but was turned down every time. In fact there was only one time where he wasn't turned down, but that was due to the fact that Miss Brahms didn't want to do her mum's laundry.

It has been noted that Mr Lucas is cheeky and will date anything that moves but it is also known that he has a certain disregard for the rules. Upon several occasions he has taken it upon himself to bend the rules so that the rest of the staff get what they want. On top of that he is late to work everyday with an extremely long-winded excuse as to why he was late.

Mr Lucas appeared in the pilot episode right through until the Christmas Special in Series 7. There has been no mention as to why his character left the department but there is a reason to believe that he was sacked after Captain Peacock passes comment that the last time they had no sale in the department they sacked the Junior.

Mr Lucas was replaced by Mr Spooner at the start of Series 8.
